Synergy IT Site Rebuild Brief

A scope-of-work brief defining what must be preserved, what should change, and the launch criteria for rebuilding the Synergy IT website.

Prepared for

Synergy IT web developer

Prepared by

Rhys Ford, RSF Media

Date

August 2026

01

Section 01

Purpose

Synergy IT is rebuilding its WordPress website. This brief sets out what the developer must preserve, what should change and what the SEO constraints are. The goal is a faster, cleaner site that does not lose the search rankings and lead generation the current site produces.

Schema

JSON-LD sitewide

Organization, WebSite, per-page Service/AboutPage/ContactPage, FAQPage on industry pages, BreadcrumbList.

03

Section 03

What is working and must be preserved

📈

Rankings and traffic

The site generates leads. The law firms industry page in particular drives a significant share of enquiries (confirmed by Tom Rose, July 2026). Dropping these pages or changing URLs without proper redirects will directly cost revenue.

🔗

URL structure

Every published URL must keep its exact current path or have a 301 from the old path to the new one. No exceptions. Current structure: /services/[slug]/, /industries/[slug]/, /blog/[slug]/, plus /about-us/, /contact-us/, /partners-and-accreditations/, /privacy-policy/.

🏷️

Titles and meta descriptions

All current Rank Math SEO titles and meta descriptions must be migrated. These have been individually written and optimised — do not auto-generate them from page titles.

🧩

Schema markup

Hand-coded JSON-LD exists on every page and must be migrated or rebuilt to the same structure: Organization (phone 1300 796 796, Unit 27, 3 Box Road, Caringbah NSW 2229, social profiles), FAQPage on all 8 industry pages (6 unique FAQs each), BreadcrumbList on industry and service child pages, Service schema on the /industries/ hub.

🕸️

Internal linking

Body copy contains strategic internal links, not just nav and footer. These must survive the content migration. The internal linking structure was audited and rebuilt in June 2026.

📄

Content

All body copy on service and industry pages is original, sector-specific content written from scratch. Migrate word-for-word. Do not rewrite, summarise or template it.

📝

Forms and conversions

Every service and industry page has CTAs linking to /contact-us/. The Formidable Forms contact form must remain functional; submissions currently go via WP Mail SMTP.

🔌

Google integrations

GA4 property connected via GTM, Google Search Console URL-prefix property (https://synergyit.com.au/), and the linked Google Business Profile all remain connected through the rebuild.

04

Section 04

What should change

1st preference

Bricks Builder

Fastest, cleanest output. Best choice for a developer already comfortable with it.

2nd preference

Kadence Blocks

Gutenberg-native with a good balance of speed and ease of use.

3rd preference

GeneratePress + GenerateBlocks

Lightweight alternative if the leanest possible footprint is preferred.

Page builder

Replace Divi with a lighter builder. Divi's render-blocking CSS and JS are the primary cause of the site's slow load times. Any of the three options above will produce a meaningfully faster site.

Theme

The current Divi theme should be replaced entirely. The child theme contains custom code from Marameo Design including a hardcoded support ticket widget — now hidden via CSS, but the HTML is still in the child theme's PHP. This should be removed entirely in the rebuild.

Performance targets

LCP under 2.5s

Currently 2.0s (WP Rocket Insights)

On target

Site structure improvements

Privacy policy

Currently the unedited WordPress default. Needs a proper Australian privacy policy referencing the Privacy Act 1988, the APPs and the NDB scheme.

Terms and conditions

Currently 404. Needs creating.

Contact page

Needs an email address, business hours, a response-time commitment and a map embed.

About page

Needs team members named (Tom Rose and Con Nitsolas at minimum), founding year and the Smart Solutions acquisition (January 2026).

Blog

Needs publish dates, author attribution and Article schema.

05

Section 05

301 redirect requirements

If any URL changes, the developer must implement 301 redirects from every old URL to its new equivalent. This is non-negotiable. A spreadsheet mapping old → new URLs should be prepared before launch and reviewed by the SEO team.

Legacy URLs that already need redirects (currently broken or duplicated):

01/services/cyber-security//services/cyber-security-services-for-small-medium-business/
02/services/it-support/services/local-it-support/
03/services/microsoft-365//services/microsoft-365-managed-service/
04/terms-conditions/New terms page URL
05/cybersecurity-for-small-businesses//services/cyber-security-services-for-small-medium-business/
06
